Brewmaster Eric Marshall of Tulsa's Marshall Brewing Co. predicts his highly popular Oktoberfest beer will last at least through October.

This was a genuine concern for fans of the local beer.

"Last year was the first year we bottled the Oktoberfest, and it was gone in a hurry," Marshall said. "This year we planned a little better."

Marshall said he is looking forward to participating in several upcoming beer-related events and is particularly pointing to an Oktoberfest celebration planned Oct. 5-6 at Fassler Hall, 304 S. Elgin Ave.

"We'll have the street blocked off, and it's going to be a fun event," Marshall said.

Most of the major breweries released their Oktoberfest beers in early August, and because of that some are likely to be sold out by the time Oktoberfest celebrations arrive. Marshall released his in late August.

The Marshall Oktoberfest beer is a deep-colored lager highlighted by a complex malt flavor, elegantly balanced by the bittering of noble German hops, according to Marshall.

It's extremely smooth and drinkable, and can be found in many restaurants and most liquor stores in the Tulsa area.
