Broken Arrow junior tailback Devon Thomas missed his third straight game due to unspecified reasons on Friday night as the Tigers lost to Union 26-21.
Thomas, however, is expected to return for the Tigers' district opener against Muskogee next Friday (Sept. 21).
"He should be back next week," Broken Arrow coach Steve Spavital said to Tulsa World sports writer Kelly Hines after the loss to Union.
Thomas was the No. 1 area player in the preseason Tulsa World All-World rankings after rushing for 1,840 yards and 22 TDs last year.
Thomas' return could be very timely for the Tigers as their leading rusher Cameron Wrenn suffered an ankle injury in the loss to Union. The severity of the injury has not been determined.
