Owner Kyle Phillips has closed Campus Grill, 3148 E. 11th St.
Phillips, who also owns Brookside by Day, 3313 S. Peoria Ave., said lease negotiations prompted the closing.
"During the summer it was tough, but it was great during the school year, and we had some great customers," Phillips said. "Now I'm excited about some of the things we are doing in Brookside."
Phillips said Brookside by Day, a longtime breakfast-lunch spot, is being remodeled and will open for dinner five days a week later this spring. He said full bar service will be added, as well.
"We're not going to have a bar open to 2 a.m.," Phillips said. "We will just be a restaurant with a bar."
Other closings that have come to my attention recently:
Compadre's Grill & Cantina at Oneta Road in Coweta. Compadre's still has locations in Tulsa, Broken Arrow and Owasso.
King's Palace Steakhouse in Broken Arrow.
SoCo's Sports Bar, 8161 S. Harvard Ave.
It's Greek to Me in Bixby. It's Greek to Me still has locations in Promenade and Woodland Hills malls, and a spokesman said it soon will have a new location near the University of Tulsa.
