Capp Crowder has opened Capp's BBQ at 2604 E. 11th St., not far from where he used to play football for the University of Tulsa.
Crowder, a Kansas City native who graduated in 1994, was a wide receiver on the TU football team that won the Freedom Bowl.
This will be his second restaurant. He opened a Capp's BBQ in Okmulgee in 2008.
"We have most everything -- chopped beef, sliced beef, ribs, pork, chicken, turkey, hot links, bologna -- and we make all of our sides from scratch," Crowder said.
Crowder said he will be spending most of his time at the Tulsa store while it is getting established.
Capp's BBQ is open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday-Saturday.
