Capp Crowder, former University of Tulsa football player and owner of the popular Capp's BBQ in Okmulgee, plans to open a Tulsa location this summer.
The restaurant will be located at 2604 E. 11th St.
"That will put me back close to TU," said Crowder, a Kansas City native. "I graduated in '94 and just stayed in this area."
Crowder, a wide receiver on the TU football team that won the Freedom Bowl, is known for his tender ribs, beef brisket and pulled pork sandwiches.
"I would like to be open by July 1, but it is looking like it probably will be more like mid July," Crowder said.
