Carrie Underwood is donating the proceeds from her Friday concert in
Atlantic City, New Jersey, to Sandy storm recovery efforts.
"I wouldn't feel right making any money off of tonight's show. So anything I make is going right back into the community here,"
People magazine quotes her as saying.
Hers was the first big concert there since Sandy roared through.
Post-show, she tweeted her admiration: "Thank you beautiful Atlantic City! You all made my year! You have been through so much and still rocked the house! I leave in awe! Thanks!"
Underwood didn't say how much money would be donated. However, $1 from every ticket on her current "Blown Away" tour also goes to the American Red Cross.
Recently,
Lady Gaga also pledged $1 to disaster relief in the area. Other big-name donors include
Snooki,
Alec Baldwin,
Russell Crowe,
Chelsea Handler,
Barbara Walters,
George Stephanopoulos and others, multiple news sources report.
