No, Charlie Sheen is not coming back to "Two and a Half Men" but his character is making an appearance in the April 30 episode of the hit CBS series. And you'll never guess who's playing him.
Oscar winner Kathy Bates will play the iconic role of Charlie Harper, who was killed off the series last year following Sheen's much publicized feud with show creator Chuck Lorre and the producing studio. The character was last seen as ashes in an urn produced for the funeral on the show's season opener. Turns out Harper was hit by a train and exploded.
CBS has announced Bates will play the ghost of Harper who visits Alan (Jon Cryer) in the hospital following a minor heart attack. The situation comedy air sat airs at 8 p.m. Mondays on channel 6.
No word yet from CBS or the studio if "Two and a Half Men" will be renewed for next season and whether or not Ashton Kutcher, who took over the lead in the series as billionaire Walden Schmidt, will return.
Sheen is working on a new series "Anger Management." Bates stars in the NBC series "Harry's Law" airing Sundays on channel 2, cable 9.
