If you think a Big As Yo' Face Burrito or a Chicka-Chicka-Boom-Boom Enchilada would be a romantic dish for your dish on Valentine's Day, then make plans to attend the Oklahoma debut of Chuy's.
Chuy's, an Austin-based chain known for its Tex-Mex fare and funky atmosphere, will open Feb. 14 at 10808 E. 71st St. near the Cinemark Tulsa theater.
A major attraction at Chuy's restaurants is the Fully-Loaded Nacho Car, offered 4-7 p.m. Monday-Friday. The unlimited build-your-own nacho station serves chips, salsa, queso, ground sirloin and more out of an antique car hood.
Chuy's eclectic decor includes such items as an Elvis shrine, 6-foot metal palm trees, hubcap-covered ceilings and colorful tile work. The company line is, "If you've seen one Chuy's, you've seen one Chuy's."
The restaurant's bar includes hand-squeezed lime margaritas and other specialty drinks.
Jill Warden, a native Tulsan, is owner and operator, and has selected Family & Children's Services of Oklahoma as the restaurant's local charity partner.
Chuy's will be open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday-Saturday.
