Here's one to put on your calendar, or get stirred up enough about to plan an entry.
John "Chilijohn" Fenrich, a veteran of and frequent winner of International Chili Society cookoffs, informes us the ICS Oklahoma State Cook-Off will be held this year in Owasso on Oct. 24.
The contest will be held 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Centennial Park. Admission is free, and tasting kits will be available to purchase to sample the competitors' chili. Plenty of activities are planned for the kiddies, too.
Winners of this event in red chili, green (verde) chili and salsa will qualify to compete in the International Chili Society World Cook-Off in 2010.
If you need more information about entering the cookoff, e-mail Fenrich at johnfenrich@cox.net.
