When you make chocolate chip cookies do you just toss in the chips from the bag of Nestle's? Or, do you chop a bar of chocolate and add it to your batter?
I'm thinking about chips vs. chunks as I'm working on a story about a chocolate chip cake that will run in Wednesday's Scene section. The recipe I'm testing uses chips, but I think it would be even better with chopped chocolate.

I love these Scharffen Berger chocolate chunks, but they're pretty expensive. Most of the time I use a bag of semisweet Nestle. This Christmas when I was making a ton of cookies, I also experimented with Hershey's chips and Ghirardelli chips.
All of them tasted good to me. Just don't make me eat white chocolate chips.
