The Circle Cinema next week offers a first look at the new drama "American Violet," with one of the film's stars, Tulsa's own Tim Blake Nelson, in attendance.
Serving on the Circle's advisory board and as co-chairman with Peggy Helmerich of the theater's capital campaign, Nelson will introduce the film and conduct a question-and-answer session at its conclusion.
He's even going to pose for pictures with guests that will then go inside a time capsule that Circle Cinema co-founder Clark Wiens is burying during construction of the theater's two additional screens.
An evening with Nelson in attendance for the screening of "American Violet," a justice-seeking drama about a woman trying to clear her name after a wrongful drug arrest, is set for Friday, May 8, from 8-11 p.m.
Alfre Woodard, also from Tulsa, stars in the film with Nicole Beharie, Will Patton and Michael O'Keefe.
Tickets to this event are $19 for Circle Cinema members and $28 for those who Wiens describes as "not-yet-members."
Tickets may be purchased online at tulsaworld.com/circle or at the theater box office, 12 S. Lewis Ave.
