Claremore senior linebacker Jordan Cunningham committed on Thursday to play football at Northeastern State.

Cunningham, 5-foot-11 and 185 pounds, helped the Zebras finish 10-2 and reach the Class 5A quarterfinals in 2012. He was a Tulsa World All-Metro first-team selection and All-State second-team selection. Cunningham also was selected for the Oklahoma Coaches Association's All-State Game in August.

Cunningham was second in 5A with 194 tackles and finished his career with 479. Cunningham had a season-high 23 against Pryor and 21 in a playoff win over Memorial. Cunningham also had three fumble recoveries and seven pass breakups.

As a running back, Cunningham rushed for 934 yards on 184 carries and scored nine touchdowns.

Verbal commitments are not binding. National Signing Day is Feb. 6.
