"New country" music station KTGX 106.1
The Twister, launched noon yesterday in Tulsa from Clear Channel Media and Entertainment. It will air commercial free through Monday.
It replaced relative market newbie
GenX Radio on the dial. No explanation was given for the switch-up.
The Twister will soon add a local morning show and additional local talent, said Clear Channel management.
“We are thrilled to bring The Twister brand to Tulsa’s airwaves. Tulsa has a huge appetite for country music and The Twister will break new country songs and artists,” said Jon Phillips, market manager, Clear Channel Media and Entertainment Tulsa, in a media statement.
“The Twister has enjoyed a 19 year heritage in Oklahoma City and we look forward to similar results in the Tulsa market.”
