While Oklahoma has been having a bit of rain this week of its own, Colorado is now recovering from its flooding last week.

The Associated Press reported today that receding floodwaters have allowed many Colorado flood victims to return home to submerged houses and upended vehicles.

As many as eight people were believed to be dead, according to state officials, and hundreds were still missing.

More than 2,300 people and 850 pets have been airlifted to safety by Tuesday, according to the Colorado National Guard. Counties reported that about 19,000 homes either damaged or destroyed.

Here are photos and video via the Associated Press:

I will be back later this week with more on recent storms.
