No more rodeos for Conan O'Brien.
On Thursday's rehearsal for the "Conan" show, O'Brien was talked into riding a water buffalo for a segment. There was no timer but it's safe to say he won't be recruited for a national water buffalo riding competition any time soon.
"Get on the buffalo, they said," said O'Brien, talking about the idea being brought up in a staff meeting.
So he gave it a try, was bucked off and ended up landing hip-first on the concrete floor.
"The water buffalo is fine if you're worried about the water buffalo," he quipped. "… It really hurt. But I did get something out of it, the greatest bruise of my life."
The bruise garnered him high-fives from his kids and an opportunity to drop his trousers to show off the injury to his studio audience.
"Now I have one question: were you gasping at the bruise or at the actual color of my skin?" he asked the audience.
