(You know, the label whose flagship band was Wichita, Kan. band Scroat Belly? No? … Well, that band later became Split Lip Rayfield. The label started as sort of the "Sub Pop" of cool “insurgent country” music … but also is now home to bands like the Detroit Cobras, Old 97s, Neko Case, Ryan Adams and more.)
Chuck Eddy of the Village Voice declared: “Gore Gore Girls mix Stooges spit with Supremes soul like an itching in my heart full of napalm.” Yeah, fuuuunnnn.
Check ’em out. … Both bands, sillies.
