Will Shea Seals join Danny Manning's basketball staff at Tulsa?
If he does, it won't be as a full-time assistant basketball coach. Manning announced his third coach in former UMKC assistant Wendell Moore on Monday.
There has been a newly created position this year within the basketball program. TU now has a director of student-athlete development/team manager position. It's a non-coaching position that is the same title that Manning had when he got his start at Kansas in 2003.
Manning has often said the director of student-athlete development/team manager role he assumed was perfect for him to get a grasp for coaching college basketball. It was a role he kept for four seasons.
Seals is a proven coach at the high-school level. The 36-year-old was 134-45 during his career, including a 106-22 mark at Booker T. Washington over five seasons.
Is he a lock for the new position at Tulsa? It would appear so, but nothing official has come out of the school. Seals resigned on April 16 from his coaching position at BTW.
