Yes, American Theatre Company’s “The Taming of the Shrew” continues on the lawn at Philbrook this weekend. But if you’re wanting to experience theater indoors this weekend, you have a choice of cowboys and Indians.

The American Indian Theatre Company is presenting “Rabbit Boy Dances with Otter Girl” at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday in the Tulsa PAC’s Doenges Theatre, 110 E. Second St. It is a romantic comedy, with Langhorn Boudreaux deciding that it’s time for his young sister to get married. She, on the other hand, is determined to prove her worth by winning a contest to make the best version of a traditional Indian dish called sofkee.

Tickets are $5-$12, call 918-596-7111 or tulsaworld.com/mytix.

Broken Arrow Community Playhouse opens a show that puts a county & western spin on a classic story, as it presents “Phantom of the Country Opera,” 8 p.m. Friday-Saturday and June 9-11, 2 p.m. June 12, at the playhouse, 1800 S. Main St. in Broken Arrow.

The book by Sean Grennan and Kathy Santon takes the basic outline of the well-known story and shifts the scene to Nashville, where a young soprano has given up a life on the opera stage to sing back-up at the “Country Palace.” Then a mysterious janitor starts showing an interest in the new arrival.

There is little that is serious about the show, which has been described as “The Nashville Network on acid.”

Tickets are $6-$13. Call 918-258-0077 to reserve seats.
