With memorial services now underway for the victims of last week’s Aurora, Colo., movie theater rampage, some survivors were surprised with a visit from ‘Dark Knight Rises’ actor
Christian Bale Tuesday.
One of the victims, Carey Rottman, who is recovering from a gunshot wound to the leg, posted a picture of the visit on Facebook.

"The Dark Knight Rises," in which Bale plays Batman, was playing early Friday when 24-year-old James Holmes is alleged to have opened fired on the audience, killing 12 people and injuring 58 others.
The Denver Post reported Tuesday that Bale visited with seven of the injured victims at an Aurora medical center.
"The patients were really happy to meet Bale," interim hospital president Bill Voloch told the Post. "They are obviously big fans of his movies. They wanted to see Batman and were really pleased to see Bale."
Yesterday, Bale and his wife also paid a visit to a growing memorial site for the victims.
Many of the DKR cast members have released statements about last week’s shootings. And a representative for Warner Bros. Pictures, which made the film, released a statement about Bale’s visit, saying the actor went to Aurora on his own: “"Mr. Bale is there as himself, not representing Warner Brothers.”
