OKLAHOMA CITY — Kevin Durant is good to go.
After sustaining a slight injury in Saturday’s loss at Cleveland, Durant participated in shootaround at Chesapeake Arena Monday afternoon and coach Scott Brooks said prior to Monday night’s game against Dallas that the Oklahoma City Thunder forward is fine.
“He’s good,” Brooks said. “He feels a lot better today, and I think tonight he should have no problem, no restrictions on playing time. He’s ready to go.”
Durant took an inadvertant knee from Cleveland’s Alonzo Gee in the lower back in the third quarter Saturday. He missed a couple of minutes and required minor medical treatment for what the team called a right rib contusion. He was listed as a game-time decision for tonight’s 7 p.m. tip between the Thunder (35-12) and Mavericks (20-27).
OKC goes into the Dallas game having lost four of its last seven games, so tonight figures to carry a high level of importance.
“They’re all important,” Brooks said. “Every time we play, we focus on giving our best shot and putting ourselves in a chance to win. It’d be crazy for me to say one game is more important than another. They’re all important, 82 games a year. There’s no question we want to play better than we played last game, and we’ve always been a prideful team in bounce-back games. This gives us another chance to bounce back in a good way.”
OKC is 10-1 this season following a loss.
