Being a big "Dynasty" fan, I was sad to hear about Nolan Miller's death on Thursday.
Miller, who was 79, was responsible for the glamorous, shoulder-padded gowns Krystal and Alexis wore. He also designed the dress in which Ginger was shipwrecked on "Gilligan's Island," as well as the cobwebby dress Morticia donned on "The Addams Family," according to an article in the New York Times.
The article also said that Miller, who won an Emmy for his work on "Dynasty," was given a weekly wardrobe budget of $35,000. He designed about 3,000 outfits for the drama, which ran from 1981 to 1989.
So, next time you're having a "Dynasty" DVD marathon weekend (you know who you are -- invite me over), be sure to toast Mr. Miller -- and, of course, do a shot for every catfight.
Peace, love and shoulder pads ... XOXO
