The mystery behind former Oral Roberts and Perkins pitcher Jeremy Hefner's second-half struggles for the New York Mets has been solved.

Former Tulsa Oilers player Doug Clark's son, Cody, finally made it to the majors last month as a catcher for Houston. Cody Clark, who has been in pro ball since 2003, has always been a long-shot to reach the majors even though he has spent part of the past seven seasons in Triple-A.
But for this feel-good story to really feel good, Cody needs a hit. The Fayetteville (Ark.) native is hitless in his first 19 at-bats (he does have a walk and sacrifice fly). The record for most at-bats without a hit in the career of a position player in the majors is 23 set by Mike Potter and Larry Littleton. Potter played for the Tulsa Oilers in 1976.
