The newest issue of Rolling Stone cover story is a David Fricke interview with two of rock 'n' roll's most influential guitarists. Jeff Beck and Eric Clapton talked about old rivalries, blues heroes, the secrets of their craft and the "vocal mentality" of guitar playing.

Clapton also talked about his singing of "After Midnight," penned by Oklahoman J.J. Cale.

Read more from that interview at Rolling Stone online, here.

Clapton returns to Tulsa for his first full concert in decades, on March 5 at the BOK Center. Beck will perform at the Brady Theater on April 27.

PLUS!! Stay tuned to the Tulsa World for interviews with some of Clapton's closest cohorts, including Tulsans and bandmates Jamie Oldaker and David Teegarden Sr.

Stories will run in our upcoming Spot magazine, the Tulsa World newspaper and on tulsaworld.com.
