Check out Sunday's story on several of the contributors to
Eric Clapton's distinctive sound. We also had a Thursday Spot cover story (links below).
The Tulsa World spent weeks asking for input from fans and musicians alike, wanting their memories and experiences with Clapton and the
Tulsa Sound. Problem is, about three people responded. We were bummed by the response.
However, I also called, emailed and messaged many Tulsa musicians and experts via social media and traditional email. Heck, I used a phone, too. I ended up with three great conversations with three great people:
Jamie Oldaker,
John Wooley and
David Teegarden Sr. Read those interviews below.
Our latest coverage has kicked something loose. We've had numerous emails, comments and phone calls from folks tripping out on that way-back machine. And we welcome all the sharing of decades' worth of memories.
Clapton plays the
BOK Center on Tuesday with rock legend
Roger Daltrey opening. Tickets are still available.

Rock of Ages," which chronicles the history of Tulsa rock 'n roll,
