Yeah, say that blog title three times fast.
Anyway, I'm starting to sniff a potential trend in the fashion world. Then again, as I relinquished the style reigns to our darling Kimilicious Brown last fall, it's probably been a trend for a while, and I'm just behind.
I'm talking about fetishism, which figures into the extremely popular "Fifty Shades of Grey" by E.L. James.
After Kimilicious told me about some nail polishes with slightly provocative names, I received an email about these really cool -- but ever-so-slightly risque -- men's accessories, which incorporate certain body piercings into neckties and bowties.
They're by the talented Title of Work designer, Jonathan Meizler, whose "Piercings" collection of neckwear incorporates details like grommets, chains and nipple rings.
But Meizler's offerings were created long before the "Fifty Shades" buzz, so there goes my theory.
"With Title of Work, I hope to translate the principles of art, fashion and science into uniquely curated pieces," he writes on his web site. "For spring, I explored the concept of duality, expressed in a collection that reflects three distinct art movements: expressionism, modernism and pop."
I especially liked his descriptions of "gentleman meets fetishist," "bespoke meets couture" and "check meets mate."
My favorites in the "Piercings" collection are the sterling curved barbell tie and the black bow tie with nipple ring. I have
zero piercings, but I love the juxtaposition of something swanky with something else a tiny bit dirty.
Speaking of dirty, I'd need to be a smidgen more filthy rich (i.e., not poor) to afford his cool ties, which range $215-$375 in the "Piercings" collection.
But, like "Fifty Shades of Grey," one can fantasize, no?

Peace, love and piercings ... XOXO
