I kept a running tally of Tulsa's weather milestones (information from the National Weather Service) all year long. Here's your final results:
Tulsa weather milestones of 2012
Highest temperature: 112 on July 31, Aug. 1 and Aug. 2 (Record: 115 on Aug. 15, 1936)
Lowest temperature: 14 on Dec. 26 (Record: -16 on Jan. 22, 1930)
Note: That one stayed the same most of the year, with 16 degrees on Feb. 12.Hottest month (average): 88.9 degrees in July (Record: 91.7 degrees on July 1980)
Coldest month (average): 43.6 degrees in December (Record: 21.7 in January 1918)
Note: That one also stayed most of the year. It was 44.2 degrees on average in January.Most snowfall (day): 1.2 inches on Feb. 13 (Record: 13.2 inches on Feb. 1, 2011)
Most snowfall (month): 1.2 inches in February (Record: 22.5 inches in February 2011)
Most rainfall (day): 3.32 inches on June 4 (Record: 9.27 inches on May 26-27, 1984)
Most rainfall (month): 6.24 in March (Record: 18.18 inches on September 1971)
Highest wind speed: 41 mph on Aug. 4
Previous day with any rain: Dec. 31 Previous day with 1 inch or more of rain: Oct. 17
