Being First Lady has its perks.

Aside from representing The United States of America and doing good deeds, sometimes you can ask and you shall receive.

An avid fan of the popular British period drama "Downton Abbey," First Lady Michelle Obama reportedly couldn't wait for the third season to premiere Jan. 6 on America's Public Television. She requested and received an advance copy of the show that has already aired in England, according to thesun.co.uk.

"We know it's very popular in America as it's so quintessentially British," said a source on the hit ITV1 show and reported by the website. "We'd heard the Obamas liked to watch it but we were very surprised when someone from the First Lady's office got in touch asking for the series.

"They were very polite and we were more than happy to sort out some DVDs for them to send over. Obviously we hope they keep the spoilers to themselves as our US fans may not know about... well, you know what!"

The popular series completed it run in October in England. No word yet if there will be a fourth season.

President Barack Obama has also reportedly invited Hugh Bonneville and Elizabeth McGovern, who star as the Earl and Countess of Grantham in "Downton," to a White House dinner for Prime Minister David Cameron in March, according to the website.

Here's a couple of trailer for the new season.
