Jeremy Renner in "The Bourne Legacy."
Jeremy Renner is not the new Jason Bourne. Know that from the start. Check out the new trailer here and learn more.
The actor you may best know from "The Town" and the latest "Mission: Impossible" movie is the new agent in a summer film based on Robert Ludlum's CIA operative world.
These movies don't have Matt Damon as Jason Bourne to kick around anymore. Ludlum wrote three Bourne novels, and they've made three Bourne movies.
But big-money movie franchises die hard, and in "The Bourne Legacy," Renner plays Aaron Cross. Cross is also an agent, and he appears to be in a situation similar to that of Bourne, but the time element is after the first three movies.
The movie's tagline is a pretty good one, if you think about it: "There was never just one"
Renner deserves every chance at making this character a success, and if you haven't seen him in "The Hurt Locker," please do. Renner has a big summer planned: He's Hawkeye in May's "Avengers" movie, and "The Bourne Legacy" is set for an Aug. 3 release.
