FANTASY WORLD
So last year I though Doug Martin was worth moving up in fantasy drafts and grabbing. This year, I did the same thing with ...
1. Eddie Royal is a beast. The guy who was a decent fantasy player like five years ago is blowing it up in the first two ...
One last look at week 1. You could have drafted a team with the most points.
If you picked the players with the most ...
1. Anquan Boldin still has a lot left in the tank. Ten years after he went for more than 200 yards as a Cardinal, he did the same thing again against the Packers in his first game as a 49er. Colin Kaepernick looked like the real deal as a passer. Boldin was a late pick in every draft and was easily the most undervalued player. He was targeted a lot and was able to get open, something he wasn't able to do as a Raven very often.
2. Jared Cook always had the tools. He always ended up on those preseason lists as a candidate to break out. Now, in his first game as a Ram, he looks like it's for real. So many people have been burned by Cook that he also dropped to the end of drafts. Chris Givens was the pick everyone wanted. Cook's two touchdowns and 141 yards could have been even better. He fumbled what would have been another touchdown.
3. Josh Freeman is horrible. Matt Stafford is going to break his own record of yardage this year. Calvin Johnson's curse of getting in the end zone is still alive. Lamar Miller had the worst opening day as a starter with 1 yard on nine carries. Ouch. Cleveland's offense needs to catch up with its defense.
4. Stevan Ridley is on the bench. His fumble turned into a defensive touchdown and he never saw the field again. Ridley was a second rounder in a lot of leagues and with decent backs LeGarrette Blount and Shane Vereen, you wonder what is next for him. I have him in two leagues and I am really worried his coach is going to make him disappear. He's not big on second chances.
5. You know you have a bad offense when your No. 1 wide receiver doesn't get a catch until 8 minutes to go in the fourth quarter. That is what happened to Cecil Shorts. Justin Blackmon is out for the first month so he might return to an 0-4 team. By that time, Blaine Gabbert should be holding a clipboard and Chad Henne will be the starter.
