Arkansas tied the Texas League finals at 1-1 with a 1-0 victory at San Antonio on Wednesday night after San Antonio had won the opener 1-0. Michael Roth pitched seven innings to combine with two relievers on a four-hit shutout Wednesday.
Tulsa Drillers nemesis Randal Grichuk's second-inning RBI single drove in the only run.
In a move of strange timing, San Diego called up San Antonio first baseman Tommy Medica on Tuesday, just before the TL finals started. It wouldn't have been strange if San Diego was in a pennant race, but the Padres are out of contention. Medica homered on Wednesday against Philadelphia's Cliff Lee. San Antonio could have used Medica's homer on Wednesday.
