Martin Regional Library, 2601 S. Garnett Road, will host free health screenings for people of all ages from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30.

The screenings -- including blood pressure, cholesterol and glucose hemoglobin A1C -- will be provided by the Tulsa Health Department. Body mass index and waist-to-hip ratio measurements will also be performed.

The event complements the Tulsa City-County Library's “One Book, One Tulsa” initiative, which explores food, gardening, health and sustainability.

Similar screenings are scheduled in the coming months at other branches -- Zarrow Regional Library on Sept. 18, Central Library on Oct. 17, and Rudisill Regional Library on Nov. 14.
