A couple of weeks ago I wrote a feature on FuWa Asian Kitchen, a new restaurant that specializes in a variety of Asian dishes, including Malay and Korean.
The food is terrific and the owners are gracious hosts. During our interview, however, I apparently got my wires crossed concerning the definition of FuWa. I had understood it was a Malay term for "prosperity or good fortune" (fu) and "doll or baby" (wa), but co-owner Quek Song pointed out after the article was published that is a Chinese phrase, not Malaysian.
I had the address correct, but in the body of the story I inexplicably mentioned the restaurant is at 101st Street and Yale Avenue, when I shoiuld have said 101st Street and Sheridan Road.
FuWa doesn't have inside seating. It is takeout and delivery. Call 298-8880 for details.
