"Game of Thrones" actor Peter Dinklage has been cast in "X-Men: Days of Future Past," according to hollywoodreportercom.
"Officially like to welcome #PeterDinklage from #GameOfThrones to #XMEN #DaysofFuturePast Very very excited!" tweeted the film's director Bryan Singer Wednesday.
Dinklage, who stars as Tyrion Lannister in HBO's fantasy series, joins returning cast members from 2011's "X-Men: First Class" plus those who appeared in the original "X-Men" trilogy released from 2000-06, reported the website.
"X-Men: First Class" stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult are already signed for the new film along with returning series stars Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page and Shawn Ashmore.
Also starring will be Oklahoma's James Marsden, Patrick Stewart, Anna Paquin and Ian McKellen.
In "Days of Future Past," the X-Men must travel in time to change a major historical event that could globally impact on man and mutant kind, according to imdb.com.
The film is expected to start production in April and will be released in theaters July 18, 2014.
Dinklage won an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe for his starring turn in "Game of Thrones."
