With school nearing, August is all about the kids. Including free hair cuts.

All month, J.C. Penney salons are offering free haircuts for kids in kindergarten through 6th grade. Appointments necessary. Call 855-JCP-KIDS or stop by a store to make an appointment while they last.

Clary Sage College and Oklahoma Technical College are also holding their annual Cuts for Kids events.

The free cuts will be available at Clary Sage College, 3131 S. Sheridan, from 9:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, and Oklahoma Technical College, 4444 S. Sheridan, from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Aug. 15-16. No appointments necessary.

The services are performed by cosmetology and barber students and alumni, and are meant as an opportunity to gain real-world experience as well as give back to the community.

Visit www.clarysagecollege.com or www.oklahomatechnicalcollege.com for more information.
