Not sure what to get your favorite nerd for Christmas or an upcoming birthday? Afraid you won’t be able to find something that will make them giggle with delight when they open it? I’m here to help.

I’ll post some of the cool things I find on the Internet here on Prairie Nerds to give you some ideas.

Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow costume hoodies: The fine folks at 80stees.com have a couple of hoodie that will appeal to the inner child of many nerds. Pull up the hood and close it, and you can become your favorite G.I. Joe or Cobra ninja. The Snake Eyes hoodie even has a grenade bandolier like the second version of the figure from 1985. Both hoodies cost $60 and run in sizes Small-2XL.

Ornaments for gamers: What does a nerd who spends too much time on his Xbox or PS3 need to deck his halls? Why, gaming ornaments of course. The Etsy store for Use Your Digits has lots of cool stuff, and its gamer ornaments are among the best. For $35, you get a set of 10 ornaments with everything from the old-school NES to the PS3 and Xbox 360. They come in white, blue or red (the link below is for the white ornaments; check out the store front for the others). The shop also features game controller ornaments and ornaments depicting old-school gadgets like a Walkman and a Nintendo Game Boy.

Star Trek Bat’Leth letter opener: From the description at thinkgeek.com: ”A big issue a Klingon male faces is a test of his fine motor skills. We are killing machines, fighters; we are vastly more concerned with a warrior's life, tlhIngan maH! But, when left alone and the mail has arrived, opening a letter proves to be more difficult than ghang love. But, thanks to the Bat'leth Letter Opener, we can attack these letters with the ferocity of a true warrior.”

Get it here for $24.99: Star Trek Bat’Leth letter opener

Doctor Who TARDIS mug: This mug would be great for the Doctor Who fan on your list. Add hot liquid to the mug, and the TARDIS image disappears, off to another galaxy or dimension on the other side of the mug.

Get it from the Unemployed Philosphers Guild for $12.95: Doctor Who TARDIS mug
