Choctaw Casino Resort in Durant is going country. Big Time.
Construction soon will be complete for its themed entertainment venue,
Gilley’s.
The 8,900-square-foot venue is modeled after the Texas bar made famous in the 1980 blockbuster movie, “
Urban Cowboy.”
The Durant restaurant, bar and live music venue cost $2.5 million to create, officials said.
The grand opening starts
6 p.m. June 1, and will include a special performance by the bar’s namesake,
Mickey Gilley, as well as a ribbon cutting, autograph signings by from professional bull riders and rodeo champions, food and drink specials (including a “Bud” and “Sissy”-sized beers), mechanical bull rides and more.
Other music acts will include
Somebody’s Darling, John David Kent, In10City, Jamie Richards, Arkbuckle Xpress and more.
