Let’s see, Ryan Murphy doesn’t have enough to do so he has inked a deal to direct and co-write a script for a musical comedy starring Gwyneth Paltrow, Reese Witherspoon, Cameron Diaz, Beyonce and Andy Samberg.
In a collaboration with Sony Pictures, Murphy will take on “One-Hit Wonders” with his "Glee" producers Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan with Murphy also producing with frist-time producer Paltrow. The actress has has guest-starred on “Glee” numerous times.
The film will be a star vehicle for Paltrow who, along with Witherspoon and Diaz, will play three singers who have each scored one top hit song in the '90s but then their careers cratered, according to deadline.com. So, the women decide to form a super group.
Word is Samberg and his Lonely Island collaborators Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone may be providing the music for the film, the Web site said.
Ryan Murphy already helms "Glee," "American Horror Story," and "The Glee Project" and he is writing and producing "The New Normal," a pilot for NBC about a gay couple that decides to adopt a child.
