Glenn Smith, who was Oral Roberts University's first athletic trainer from 1972-2010, was inducted into the Oklahoma Athletic Trainers' Association Hall of Fame on Saturday at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond.
Also inducted was the University of Oklahoma's director of rehabilitation Jim Hillis.
Smith, who has been a full-time ORU faculty member since 1987, also is the ORU Varsity Club's executive director and vice president of the Golden Eagle Club. Smith is a member of the ORU Athletic Hall of Fame.
Union High School's Dan Newman was named as the Athletic Trainer of the Year.
