Guacamole tops a Mexican dinner plate at Chipotle.

Good restaurant guacamole is hard to find.

A lot of restaurants use premade frozen stuff and others supplement the cost of fresh avocados with a little sour cream or, even worse, mayonnaise.

A friend recently told me about how great the guacamole is at Chipotle, 10904 E. 71st St.

In the meantime, we looked around online to see if we could find a copy cat recipe of Chipotle's guacamole. I came across a blogger who tried many versions until she came up with what she believes is as close as you can get to Chipotle's guacamole.

She says: "This is it. For real… I challenge you to get a side of guac at Chipotle, make this and eat them one right after the other."

It's worth a try.

CHIPOTLE-STYLE GUACAMOLE

2 large ripe Hass avocado, peeled and pitted

2 teaspoons fresh lime juice

2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro

1/4 cup finely chopped red onions

1 clove of garlic, finely minced

1 serrano chili, seeded and chopped

1/2 teaspoon salt

1. Mash up avocado with a fork or food processor. Add lime juice. Add all other ingredients and blend well. Serve with tortilla chips.
