Get a plate of bull and country kicks at Will Rogers Downs in Claremore in June.
This week, the venue announced Trent Tomlinson as music headliner for the inaugural Green Country Calf Fry, June 26-27.
The festival at Cherokee Casino Will Rogers Downs not only appeals to fans of the cowboy delicacy, but to everyone, with western-style events like a dance contest, mechanical bull buck out and live entertainment both nights from favored country music performers.
“We’ve received a lot of response for this event and look forward to it becoming an anticipated yearly event for Rogers and Mayes County,” said David Stewart, CEO of Cherokee Nation Enterprises, which operates Cherokee Casinos.
“We’ve added all the ingredients you’ll find at the most famous calf frys like great entertainment and dancing, plus prize-winning contests.”
The event includes music from Brandon Clark, Thomas Martinez and more, cash prizes for dance contests and bucking contests, calf fry recipes, and more.
Cherokee Casino Will Rogers is located two miles east of Claremore on Highway 20.
