People magazine reports “Green Mile” actor Michael Clarke Duncan, who suffered a heart attack this July, died at a Los Angeles hospital Monday. He was 54.

A rep for Duncan’s fiancée Omarosa Manigault-Stallworth, said Duncan “never fully recovered” from the July 13 heart attack.

Duncan, who was nominated for an Oscar for his supporting role as John Coffey in the 'Green Mile' (1999), worked as a ditch digger for a gas company before heading to L.A. where he worked as a bodyguard for such stars as Jamie Foxx and Will Smith, People reports.

The Chicago-native also appeared on t.v. and in such films as "Armaggedon," "The Scorpion King," "Planet of the Apes" and "Sin City" and also played voice talent in movies including "Green Lantern" and "Kung Fu Panda."

"Manigault is grateful for all of your prayers and asks for privacy at this time," the rep said.
