The Green Onion restaurant, 4532 E. 51st St., has closed.
Dave Ingram opened Green Onion in 1986 and operated the upscale eatery for 20 years.
He sold it in 2007 and it operated two more years before closing.
The Ozaras family, headed by Ayhan Ozaras, reopened Green Onion in October 2009, and his children, Josh and Shannon, took over management.
“The road work on 51st Street hurt, and business just kept decreasing,” Josh Ozaras said. “We loved the restaurant, but we just couldn’t afford to keep it open any longer.”
The Ozaras family also owns El Caballo, Garlic Rose and the Chalkboard, where Josh Ozaras is director of catering. Shannon Ozaras is working primarily at Garlic Rose.
