Aerosmith released a new studio album this week, “Music From Another Dimension!” ... it's been a long time in the making. It's the first album of new material in over a decade.
It also features some perhaps unexpected twists, including a ballad duet with Oklahoma country superstar
Carrie Underwood.
The album was produced by the band's '70s-era producer
Jack Douglas, along with frontman
Steven Tyler and guitarist
Joe Perry.
Like it or not, power ballads are a staple of any commercially successful rock act these days, and Aerosmith delivers with the Underwood track. The "twangy" ballad has worked wonders for Tyler & Co. in the past (think 1993's "Cryin'"), and this track will likely do the same.
