Hanson’s major label album debut “
Middle of Nowhere” celebrated its 15th birthday on May 6.
The record sold more than 10 million copies worldwide and saw five hit singles for the Tulsa trio: “
MMMBop,” “
Where’s the Love,” “
I Will Come to You,” “
Weird” and “
Thinking of You.”
Brothers
Zac,
Isaac and
Taylor helped write each song themselves, including the mega-hit “MMMBop,” which earned two Grammy nominations and topped singles charts in more than 20 countries.
In the meantime, they’ve been arguing the finer points of “
Star Trek” vs. “
Star Wars.”
Asked
AOL Music: “Why do you like Star Wars over Star Trek?”
Said Isaac, “It’s just because light sabers are really cool.”
Said Zac, “Let’s be honest. When was the last time somebody was like, ‘You know what? I really want a phaser!’ What they say is, ‘I want a laser gun.’ You know? ‘I want a blaster!’ OK? A blaster’s cooler than a phaser. A lightsaber’s cooler than ‘beam me up, Scotty,’ that’s really all it is. If you look at the outfits of ‘Star Trek,’ compare them to the outfits in ‘Star Wars.’ Like, you’ve got Storm Trooper versus Klingons. You know what? You’ve got a wrinkly butt face. You’ve got awesome blaster armor, that’s pretty cool.”
And later, Isaac admitted, “I think Zac thinks too hard.”
