Kathy Bates, star of "Harry's Law," has undergone a double mastectomy following the return of cancer.
Bates, who is Emmy nominated for outstanding actress for her NBC drama series and for outstanding guest actress in a comedy for "Two and a Half Men," was diagnosed with breast cancer several weeks ago, reported people.com Wednesday.
"After much consideration, I underwent a double mastectomy," said actress, who won the Best Actress Academy Award for the film "Misery."
"Luckily, I don't have to undergo radiation or chemo. My family call me Kat because I always land on my feet and thankfully this is no exception."
Bates, 64, revealed in March that she was battling cancer again after surviving ovarian cancer nine years ago.
"My doctors have assured me I'm going to be around for a long time," she told the website. "I'm looking forward to getting back to work doing what I love to do."
