Oklahoma City rock 'n' roller Hinder released its latest single, "Save Me," this week. It quickly raced to No. 1 on the iTunes rock song download chart. Today it sits comfortably at No. 3.

The band's new studio album, "Welcome to the Freakshow," hits stores Dec. 4 and was co-produced by drummer Cody Hanson and Marshall Dutton in Oklahoma.

And it looks like Hinder is busting free from its hair-metal roots.

"One song might have a country influence, while another might have a pop influence. Then, there are some heavy metal moments. We have every element covered on this record," Hanson said in a press statement. "You've got to do what's best for the song."
