The extent to which the BCS has contaminated college football has never been more apparent than now, with the nation having to endure two more stinking years of a popularity vote for the championship.
With the Penn State star runner bolting for Hollyweird and USC, this season is almost over before it starts. The Penn State runner got 1,200 yards last year for a vanilla team. Playing behind the best receivers in the land, and the best quarterback, who flew past OU's Jones in the throwing and draft derbies, the Penn State transfer is the missing piece to a USC powerhouse.
The Trojan defense is good, not great. But with an offense that can score 100, it is plenty good enough.
Remember how everybody was irate when Kiffin left Tennessee for USC? Well, Tennessee has barely won a game since. Kiffin isn't loved by the media because he doesn't kiss up to the homer reporters. But he can coach.
The unquestionable foe for USC is the SEC winner, LSU, Bama, SC, Ark as an outsider. Poor A&M and Missouri.
There has never been domination in any sport, anytime, anywhere, like the SEC's mastery over college football.
USC plays bums, non-conference, Hawaii, Syracuse, Notre Dame.
It catches Notre Dame and Oregon in LA.
The toughest game could be at Arizona. With Stoops the volcano gone, Zona is certain to improve.
Why is the BCS still here?
USC and the SEC are way too good for all the rest.
