Look for our holiday movie preview this Sunday, showing what’s opening in Tulsa over the next couple of months as Hollywood readies for Academy Award nominations.

For now, here’s a heads-up as to what’s opening this Friday:

“Beowulf” (on many screens, including the IMAX at Cinemark Tulsa)

“Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium”

“Lust, Caution” (the Circle Cinema has a state exclusive for Ang Lee’s fascinating espionage tale)

“Love in the Time of Cholera” (rushed into service when Oprah made it her book club selection)

“Bella” (Southroads 20 and Starworld 20 only)

And opening next Wednesday for the Thanksgiving rush:

“No Country for Old Men” (the Coen brothers make one of the year's best movies -- again)

“Enchanted” (fairy tale musical starring Oklahoma City boy James Marsden, singing and dancing again after his “Hairspray” turn)

“Hitman”

“This Christmas”

“August Rush” (which has sneak previews this Saturday night at Southroads 20)

“The Mist” (Stephen King tale adapted by Frank Darabont, who directed both “The Shawshank Redemption” and “The Green Mile” from King works.
