Christmas means a new "Doctor Who" special, and a new companion. In case you're not caught up on all things Whovian, here's a recap:

minisode titled “The Great Detective,” a prequel to the Christmas special, we see that the Doctor is ready to retire – he’s despondent (understandably, after the Ponds' departure) and traveling alone, which is never good for him – and that means it’s time for the Doctor to make room in his hearts for a new companion.
We already met Jenna Louise Coleman, who portrayed Oswin, in “Asylum of the Daleks” earlier this season. Now she’s Clara Oswin, but it’s unclear whether she’ll be the same girl whose consciousness gets trapped in a Dalek. (Smith and Coleman actually joke about it in the intro to the
trailer.) But it makes for a unique companion story arc either way.
Now that you're caught up, I have a bone to pick. The BBC released on Tuesday its trailer for the network's upcoming Christmas lineup, and in it we see a few scenes with the Doctor and Clara. At about the 30-second mark is one heck of a smooch as Clara lays one on the Doctor. Um... he's a married man, lady! The only lips I want to see on a collision course with that time lord's mouth belong to River Song.
The Doctor doesn't get to do much snogging, and that's how I like it. I'm bothered when companions take a romantic interest in the Doctor (which is why I'll always hate Martha Jones with all her mooning and pining), and I barely forgave Amy Pond for stealing a kiss back before she was sure about marrying Rory. And now that The Doctor's got a wife, I'm even more inclined to want to scratch a gal's eyes out for making a move on him.
Hopefully this nonsense will be explained away by some creative device from the genius Steven Moffat, and I'll not have to worry about any homewrecking tendencies as Clara goes full-time. I want to like the new girl!
