Hundreds of traditional archers lined the archery trail at the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant today for the annual Southern Plains Traditional Shoot.
Archers said the course was tough as usual – brushy but fair.

Top shooters were Leisa Payne taking both women’s divisions, Tyler Dameron leading the youth division, Spanky Brooks winning men’s senior, Jeremiah Jarmin on top in men’s recurve and Ryan Ramsey winning in men’s longbow.

The fun continues Sunday with self-bow shooters taking the course. The books open at 6:30 a.m. and close at 2 p.m. Entry is $15 for competition or $10 for a fun round.
